Dahye Jung is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at the University of Florida. She holds a Master of Tourism Science and a Bachelor of Tourism Science from Jeju National University in South Korea. Her research focuses on sport tourism, event strategy, and community development.

Dahye Jung is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at the University of Florida. She earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Jeju National University, where her graduate thesis estimated the economic value of regional festivals using a contingent valuation method. During her undergraduate years, she also studied abroad at Delaware State University, earning Dean’s and President’s List honors.
Her research interests span sport and event tourism, aging and leisure, community development, and strategic event planning. She has presented at numerous international conferences, including the Leisure Studies Association Conference in the UK, the European Sport Management Conference in France, and the World Research Summit for Hospitality and Tourism in the U.S. She has also co-authored peer-reviewed publications on economic valuation of tourism and local development.
At UF, Dahye has served as a teaching assistant for Principles of Travel and Tourism, supporting both in-person and online classes, and has guest lectured on topics including the tourism transportation sector, the MICE industry, and sustainable development. Her recent projects include an economic impact assessment of the 2025 World Masters Athletics Championship and a social network analysis of participants in the Gainesville Senior Games.
Under the guidance of her academic advisor, Dr. Heather J. Gibson, Dahye is currently exploring the social and psychological roles of active sport event tourism in promoting well-being among mid- and later-life adults.
