Jiwoo Jung is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at the University of Florida. She holds a Master of Science in Leisure and Tourism Science and a Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Recreation from Kyonggi University in South Korea. Her research focuses on climate hazards, peer-to-peer accommodation, and geospatial analysis in tourism.

Jiwoo Jung is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management at the University of Florida, advised by Dr. Jinwon Kim. She earned both her master's and bachelor's degrees from Kyonggi University, where her graduate thesis examined the role of trust and platform characteristics in repurchase intentions on sharing accommodation platforms.

Jiwoo’s research interests include climate-related hazards, community sustainability, peer-to-peer accommodations (such as Airbnb), and geospatial approaches in tourism studies. She has published in journals such as Sustainability, Anatolia, and the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, and has presented award-winning papers at conferences like the World Research Summit for Hospitality and Tourism and the D.K. Stanley Lecture Research Symposium.

At UF, she has served as a teaching assistant for a range of undergraduate courses, including Advanced Event Management, Hospitality Management, and GIS and Spatial Analysis for Tourism. She has also delivered guest lectures on tourism planning, event risk management, and qualitative research methods.

Currently, Jiwoo is conducting research on the economic impacts of hurricane-induced flooding on peer-to-peer accommodations, the touristification process, and the intersection of food environments and public health in the U.S. Her work integrates spatial data, statistical modeling, and sustainability perspectives to address real-world tourism challenges.
